"Madison bridge county" was for Eastwood a truly turning point along the films of his successful career.

This romantic movie has a factor so crucial that becomes the main strength. The presence of the pleasant and hyper talented actress Merryl Streep, the most natural actress in the last five decades in U.S.A. And I think to myself Eastwood grew up as actor with such partner.

The classic script is supported, improved and even enhanced by her superb skills. Bear in mind, for instance, her corporal and sign language enrich the inner world of this unsatisfied woman, whose desire resides in being kept in mind regarded and respected far beyond her place as wife and mother.

On the other hand, the subtle camera use is admirable, intimate and extremely depictive. Every frame and every shot before the unerring encounter talks by itself.

It's obvious this movie is a clever spin of the famous David Lean's "Brief encounter", perhaps a mite overlong, but extremely touching, kind and suggestive.

This is a film that I first dismissed as corny, but as time has passed I can now appreciate the struggles of the protagonists in middle-age angst, tempted by the overwhelming feelings that love can bring. The book was horrific tripe, but the film is done well, thanks to C Eastwood who is masterful as a director and actor, not to mention to the incredible Ms. Streep (as always!)
